A friend knows someone with a spare room. Someone in your network is moving out. Some of the best housing opportunities travel through people before they ever reach a listing platform. flatsforfriendz brings those connections into one place, helping people find and offer homes through a network they trust.

We partnered with flatsforfriendz to turn a growing Instagram community into a digital product. Working alongside the founder and engineering team, we shaped the MVP, defined the product roadmap and designed the core experience. Product strategy, user research, UX/UI and the visual brand developed together, giving the team a foundation to build on as the community grew.
From community to product
The starting point was a community already sharing homes and helping one another find a place. Our task was to give that exchange a product of its own. We scoped the MVP around the needs of people looking for a home and those offering one, then translated those priorities into a roadmap the team could work with.

Designing for trust
Housing is a personal decision. The experience needed to make it easy to understand an offer, see the connection behind it and decide what to do next. We designed the core user flows and interfaces around those moments, using research and ongoing feedback to refine the experience with the team.
