artifacted is a cloud platform for software built with AI. It lets people deploy tools made with Claude, Cursor, Codex or ChatGPT, keep them private and share access with others. Think: Google Drive for small apps.

Within one week, we redesigned artifacted from the ground up, redefining the product structure, core flows and overall experience. Much of the complexity lies in its system of roles, permissions and access rights, which we made easier to understand and manage. We also shaped the app's look and feel for an audience on their way to getting technical, giving their agent-built apps a home that feels like their own app store.
Challenge
Building a tool with AI can take minutes. Getting it online, deciding who can access it and managing it over time still involves technical infrastructure. artifacted needed to bring deployment, roles, permissions and sharing into one clear product without making its users feel like they were operating a cloud platform.

We began by mapping and challenging the product logic: its roles, permissions, use cases and the flows between them. From there, we created a new codebase and shaped the product foundation together. Two custom widgets made the design and review process faster: a design widget for testing fonts, colours, layouts and modes, and a role widget that let us simulate the product for each user type with a single click.The brand developed alongside the product: cloud imagery became its central visual idea, while an app dock provides quick navigation and gives previously impersonal HTML files the feeling of finished software.
